You’re stuck at home or in quarantine and need to be busy and productive.
This lockdown has provided many of us more free time than we’ve ever had before. The time that we never imagined we’d have.
This extra time allows us to do things we’ve always wanted to do or would like to do more of, depending on our personal circumstances.
I believe it is reasonable for us to use this time productively and to do activities that are valuable to us.
How To Spend Free Time In Remote Work?
As you are working from home now, you will have more free time on your hands than before. So, let’s make a list of activities you can enjoy doing during this time.
1: Watch Documentaries
While viewing a fascinating TV series on Netflix might be a fun way to spend the time, it can also be a waste of time, as you may find yourself binge-watching shows that don’t benefit you in any way but waste your spare time.
I recommend that you watch documentaries and learn about your favorite subjects in addition to your typical TV viewing habits.
You might find a documentary series on Netflix or download one from ipiratebay.org that you’ve never heard of before.
2: Read Books
Nothing makes me happier than completely immersing myself in a book, focusing solely on the book, its characters, and its plot.
Books help us exercise our brains, expand our vocabularies, reduce stress, and improve our imagination. So whether you favor fiction or nonfiction, go out and buy some books this week and start reading.
Remember that if you prefer audio, audiobooks might be the way to go. But, of course, you can also read books online.
3: Keep A Blog
It’s always a good idea to keep track of your thoughts, activities, and learnings. Then, you might reflect on this period and digest your previous day’s memories.
You can do this in privacy on your computer, smartphone, or, better yet, a notebook.
Consider taking it a step further and creating a personal blog where you can turn your daily experiences into weekly or monthly postings that others can read and learn from.
4: Enroll In A New Course
Enrolling in a course and completing tests and assignments will help you expand your knowledge and improve your CV.
You can view your personal learning profile and record achievements earned while studying by creating a free profile on the OpenLearn website.
You can also choose from various courses. In fact, learning foreign languages from some free apps is also a great way to spend your free time in remote work.
5: Learn A New Skill
Enrolling in classes to improve your qualifications can be combined with learning new skills. This might be anything from learning the rules of a game to learning how to play an instrument.
I think playing an instrument can be a lot of fun, and it’s also a creative method to keep yourself entertained and learning. This is true whether you’re learning a new instrument or improving your skills on the one you’ve been playing for a long time.
During the pandemic, Skoove is offering free piano lessons.
6: Exercise
If you work out every day, you already know that routine is the key to a successful and consistent workout program. So I’m sure I don’t have to tell you about the advantages of working out and staying in shape.
If you follow some of the workout programs available on YouTube, such as the Joe Wicks regimen that a couple of my colleagues are doing, you won’t even need gym equipment.
This workout program was recently recognized as a Guinness World Record holder for the largest number of live watchers to a workout.
7: Meditate
Since you are spending your days in social isolation, you must take good care of your mental health, and a 15-30 minutes meditation session is a perfect way to do that.
Find a quiet spot, light some scented candles, and turn on some relaxing and soothing meditation music to help you clear your mind.
Meditation is one of the best ways to help you cope with stress and give you a newfound calmness that you very much require now. If you’re new to this approach, apps like Aura and Headspace can help.
Enjoy!!!
You are supposed to enjoy your free time. But, when we say enjoy, we don’t mean sleeping for hours or binge-snacking those unhealthy foods.
We have enlisted the best ways to spend your free time as you work from home. Please take a few of these suggestions, and apply them right away to your life.
If you get good results, don’t forget to let us know about your experience.
